Our Little Apple

Now that the word is out via Facebook, I thought I would share a little about the last 17 weeks of our newest family adventure.

Our First Trimester

Josh and I found out we were pregnant the day before we left for Houston for our Christmas vacation. We were ecstatic, no amount of words could begin to describe the feeling of seeing the little 'yes' on the pregnancy test. As we packed our bags that night, we couldn't wait to get home and tell our families the good news. Baby Applegate is the best gift gift we've ever received for Christmas. :)

When I look back on the two nights that we told each of our families, I'm reminded of the joyful laughter and smiles from our parents and siblings. I will never forget the look my mom gave me as I sat next to her at dinner. The love and joy in her eyes overwhelmed me, her little girl was now a mom. Needless to say, Josh and I are unbelievably blessed to have so much love and support from our families.

My sister Laurie, aka- Aunt Lulu, is always making me laugh when she calls and texts me asking when we get to see the ultrasound. She has already started looking for Texas Tech onesies for her little niece or nephew and I'm sure our little one will also end up with an "I love my Aunt" shirt!

The first trimester was filled with lots of fatigue and nausea. I don't think I've slept 10 hours each night since I was a baby. I was really amazed at how much of my energy was going towards growing this little guy or gal. I was hungry every few hours and the only thing that sounded remotely appetizing was carbs. Any carbs. No meat, no veggies, just carbs. I can't complain though, I know lots of women who have such extreme morning sickness. I felt blessed to only deal with nausea. It was a comforting reminder to know that fatigue and nausea meant a normal pregnancy, and that things were actually going well.

God is blessing us in so many ways and we are thrilled for all that lies ahead. Below are all those bump photos that I have been horrible at remembering to take! Enjoy!

This is a photo from Bill and Claudia's wedding. I was 8 weeks pregnant at the time. Little did my grandmother know, this is a 4 generation picture :)

This is me waiting for our 10 week appointment. We were suppose to hear the heard beat, but the doctor was unable to find it.

And this flattering picture is one that Josh took while i was cooking... I have no choice but to use it because its the only pic of Baby A at 10 weeks...belly is growing!

Here we have Baby A at 11 weeks

And at 12 weeks... praise God we finally heard the heart beat!

Then 13 weeks...

I am slightly behind as I am already 17 weeks today, so there will be a new baby bump pic and more stories on the next post. Much love to all our family and friends!

Love,
